Organisations Explained

Organisations are an essential part of the Interu traceability method. They represent the entities of companies, suppliers, and stakeholders involved in your supply chain network. For instance, a single manufacturing Organisation may own or operate multiple Locations, such as various factory sites or storage facilities.

Individual corporate entities, subsidiaries, or distinct suppliers need to be entered as separate organisations to enable accurate tracking of the chain of custody and legal responsibility.

Sometimes an organisation may operate out of only one Location, and so it may appear that the Organisation and Location details are the same.

However, the key distinction is that an Organisation represents a Legal Entity, and a Location represents a physical Location.
