As physical batches move through your supply chain, they may undergo various physical transformations, such as being cut, refined, or combined with other materials. The Processes tab allows you to trace exactly which manufacturing or transformation events a specific item has been involved in.
Depending on where the item is in its lifecycle, an item might be involved in one process, multiple sequential processes, or none at all.
To know more about Processes, please check out our Processes collection.
Select an Item: From your main Items list, click on the name of the specific batch you want to investigate to open its details panel.
Navigate to Processes: In the left-hand navigation bar of the item details panel, click the Processes icon (the third icon from the top, depicting a rotating arrows).
Review the Process List: The panel will display a table listing every process this item has gone through. At a glance, you can review key details including:
ID: The unique identifier for the event (e.g., "Process ABC").
Type: The kind of transformation that occurred (e.g., "Sawing").
Location: The facility where the process took place (e.g., "Sawmill A").
First input date and Last output date.
Used as: Whether this item acted as an Input or an Output in that process, so you can tell at a glance whether the item was consumed by, or produced by, the event.
Consumed quantity: How much of the item that process consumed, shown as
{quantity} {unit} ({percent}%)of the item's initial quantity, with custom units shown where applicable. When the item is an Output, a dash would be shown since an output is produced rather than consumed.
View Detailed Process Information: To see exactly how the item was transformed during a specific event, click directly on the blue, hyperlinked process ID. This opens a deeper Process details panel.
Return to the Item List: When you are finished reviewing the process, click the green Go back button located on the left side of the panel to return to your item's main Processes list.
