Add Processes

To accurately track how your Items are transformed from one into another, you need to log a Process. Setting up a process is a multi-step task: first, you create the main event record, and then you link the specific items that went in (Inputs) and the new finished goods that came out (Outputs).

Step 1: Create the Process Record

  1. Initiate New Entry: From your main Processes list, click the black + Add new button located in the top right corner.

  2. Define Main Information: An Add process side panel will slide out. Fill out the following fields:

    • ID: Enter a unique identifier or name for this transformation event.

    • Type: Click the dropdown and select the specific action that took place, such as Sawing or Moulding.

    • Location: Select the location where this process occurred.

  3. Save the Record: Click the green Save button in the top right corner. A green Process created confirmation will appear, and the platform will load the detailed profile for your new event.

Step 2: Add Inputs (What went into the process)

Next, you must specify the exact physical batches—and the precise quantities of those batches—that were consumed during this event.

  1. Navigate to Inputs: In the left-hand navigation bar of the process details panel, click the Inputs icon (an arrow pointing into a box), then click the + (plus) icon next to Selected inputs.

  2. Set the Date: In the Add new input panel, set the Date added by clicking the calendar icon and selecting the specific date or a date range.

  3. Select the Consumed Items: Look at the Add items list on the right side of the panel. Click the + icon next to the name of the batch that was processed.

    • Click the + icon next to the name of the Input Item.

    • Notes: If you haven't actually created the item record in your system yet, you can click the plus icon at the top of this list to generate a new item profile directly from this screen without losing your place!

  4. Specify Exact Quantities: Once you select an item, it will drop down into the Items section at the bottom of the main panel.

    • In the Selected q-ty field, you must type in the exact amount of the batch that was consumed during this process.

    • As you type, the Quantity summary field above it will automatically update to reflect the total volume being processed.

  5. Save the Input: Click the green Save button at the bottom. A green Input created message will appear, and the specific batch and quantity will now be listed in your process summary.

Step 3: Add Outputs (What came out of the process)

Finally, log the resulting items that were generated by this transformation. The workflow mirrors adding inputs, but logs the creation of a new physical batch.

  1. Navigate to Outputs: In the left-hand navigation bar of the process details panel, click the Outputs icon (an arrow pointing out of a box), then click the + (plus) icon next to Selected outputs.

  2. Set the Date: In the Add new output panel, set the Date produced by clicking the calendar icon to log exactly when the manufacturing event finished.

  3. Select the Resulting Items: Look at the Add items list on the right side of the panel. By default, the system proactively filters this list to only show items that were created at the specific facility where the process took place.

    • Click the + icon next to the name of the newly generated Item.

    • Notes: If you haven't actually created the item record in your system yet, you can click the plus icon at the top of this list to generate a new item profile directly from this screen without losing your place!

  4. Specify Exact Quantities: Once selected, the item drops down into the Items section at the bottom of the main panel.

    • Verify or type in the exact Initial q-ty that was produced (e.g., 100 units).

    • As you do this, the Quantity summary field above it will automatically update to reflect the total volume of goods created.

  5. Save the Output: Click the green Save button at the bottom of the screen. A green Output created message will appear, and the specific batch and quantity will now be successfully logged in your process summary.
