Adding materials allows you to accurately catalog the specific raw inputs and species used across your supply chain. Ensuring you capture the correct taxonomic data is critical, as certain environmental compliance frameworks require precise material identification.

  1. Initiate New Entry: From your main Materials list, click the black + Add new button located in the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Enter Material Details: An Add material side panel will slide out. Fill out the form fields located under the Main information section:

    • User defined ID: Check this box only if you want to manually assign a custom ID code used by your internal systems.

    • Name: Enter your standard internal identifier for the material.

    • Category: Select the broad classification from the dropdown menu (e.g., Wood Species).

    • Common name and Scientific name: Enter the everyday localised name and the exact botanical/taxonomic name.

  3. Save the Material: Once you have entered the necessary data, click the black Save button in the top right corner to finalize the record.

  4. Confirmation: A green confirmation message reading Material created will appear in the bottom left corner, and the details panel for your newly created material will be displayed.

Important Compliance Note: Providing both the exact scientific name and common name is required for compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
