Rulesets Explained

If your supply chain data is the core of your workspace, Rulesets are the automated logic engine that governs it. Found within your Admin module under System Configuration, Rulesets allow you to define and enforce specific compliance requirements across your entire network.

Instead of manually checking if a supplier uploaded the right paperwork, you can build a Ruleset to automatically enforce those requirements based on the specific context of the trade.

Where Are Rulesets Applied?

Rulesets are categorised into three main tabs, allowing you to target different stages of your supply chain:

  • Organisations: Rules targeting the companies you do business with. For example, you can enforce a ruleset that requires every active organisation to have a general "Forest Management Document" on file.

  • Locations: Rules targeting specific physical facilities. For example, you can create a ruleset named "Required Documentation for Forest Locations in Indonesia" to ensure all high-risk geographic sites meet strict local compliance standards before they can be used in a supply chain.

  • Deliveries: Rules targeting the actual movement of goods. For example, you can trigger a ruleset titled "Documents Required for Deliveries from Uruguay" so that specific commercial invoices or export documents are made mandatory whenever a shipment originates from that region.

By utilising rulesets, you standardise your data collection, reduce human error, and ensure your supply chain remains audit-ready at all times.
