While Materials represent the fundamental raw botanical species or ingredients (like Eucalyptus or Spruce), Products represent the actual finished or semi-finished goods that you buy, process, and sell within your supply chain (such as "Pulp," "Sawn Timber," or "Wood logs").
Defining your products accurately ensures that transactions and deliveries across your network are mapped to the correct trade items. When you create a Product profile, you establish a standardised template that dictates how that item is measured and regulated. A product profile captures several key data points, such as HS code and Allowed materials.
