By logging a Delivery, you document the physical transit of your goods between locations and connect those movements to your commercial trade documents. Accurately adding deliveries is essential for building a complete chain of custody.

1. Initiate New Entry: Navigate to Deliveries on the main left-hand menu and click the black + Add new button located in the top right corner of the screen. An Add delivery side panel will slide out.

2. Fill out the Main Information: Provide the core logistical and commercial details for the shipment:

  • ID: Enter the unique internal tracking or shipment number.

  • Purchase order(s): Click the dropdown to link this physical shipment to its corresponding commercial document. This is optional.

  • From: Select the dispatch facility where the items originated (e.g., Factory ABC).

  • To: Select the destination facility receiving the items (e.g., Warehouse ABC).

3. Assign the Supply Chain: Next, you can map this delivery to a predefined static supply chain route in case there's no detailed delivery record from the upstream. This is optional.

  • Click the Supply chain dropdown to select an existing route from your database.

  • Notes: If the necessary route doesn't exist yet, you don't need to exit the page! Click the small + (plus) icon directly above the dropdown to open the Add supply chain wizard. Here, you can build the route by adding locations (the locations need to be linked first to show connection in the supply chain tab), giving it a Name, and clicking Save. Then you can go back to the Delivery tab and select the newly created supply chain from the dropdown list.

  • To learn more about Supply Chain, please check out our Supply Chains collection.

4. Set Status and Dates: Log the current state of the transit:

  • Status: Click the dropdown to mark the shipment as Pending, In progress, or Delivered.

  • Sent and Delivered: Use the calendar fields to log the exact dates of dispatch and arrival. (Note: These fields are optional).

  • Trader(s): If a third-party organisation performed the trade on your behalf, select them here.

5. Save the Delivery: Once all details are complete, click the black Save button in the top right corner. A green Delivery created confirmation will appear in the bottom left corner, and the completed details panel will load for your review.
