Deliveries are the critical links that showcase the movements of the Items. The Deliveries module allows you to track the exact shipments of goods as they transit from one location to another across your supply chain.
By logging a delivery, you document the chain of custody, linking a physical shipment of items to its corresponding commercial transaction (like a Purchase Order) and tracing its journey from its origin point to its destination.
Two Ways to Create Deliveries
Depending on your data availability and your position in the supply chain, the platform offers two distinct pathways to log and map your delivery data:
1. Full Transactional Supply Chain Creation
This method is designed for comprehensive, multi-tier traceability and rigorous compliance tracking. It allows you to build a highly detailed audit trail by explicitly connecting every layer of your operations. In this workflow, you link the Deliveries to specific Items, active Processes (like manufacturing or processing), and Purchase Orders all the way back to point of origin.
Best for: When you own or closely manage the processing steps and need an airtight, step-by-step record of material transformation and custody.
2. Simplified Supply Chain Creation
This is a streamlined workflow designed to save time and reduce manual data entry. It allows you to attach a Static Supply Chain to a Delivery directly without needing to specify all the upstream deliveries and processes.
Best for: Simpler, direct shipments or when you need to quickly record transit data for compliance without mapping all the upstream data.
