Connect Organisations

Before you can send or receive information in Interu, your organisation must be connected to the organisation you want to exchange data with (typically a supplier or a customer). Connections in Interu are initiated using an Organisation code and must be approved by both parties.

This page explains the steps required to establish a connection between organisations:

Once connected, you’ll be able to share relevant records, attachments and updates securely and efficiently through Interu.

🔒 Security & Data Privacy Note: Establishing a connection does not grant the other organisation access to your Interu account, workspace, or internal setup. A connection simply builds a secure bridge enabling you to send and receive data. Both you and your partners retain full, independent control over exactly what individual records and files you choose to share.

Only users with Account Owner or Admin permission can establish connection/disconnection with other organisations.

Send an Organisation code

To connect with another organisation in Interu and enable the exchange of information, you'll need to provide your Organisation code to the organisation you want to connect with (typically a supplier). They’ll use this code to request a connection with you.

To copy and share your Organisation code:

  1. Click the Admin icon in the left-hand menu

  2. Click the Connectivity tab

  3. Click the Connections button

  4. Click the Add new button

  5. In the overlay window, click on your Organisation code to copy it

You'll see a ✓ Copied confirmation message appear (bottom left). You can then send this Organisation code to the organisation you wish to connect to via email or otherwise, they’ll be able to request a connection using this code (see Request a Connection).

Request a Connection

Once you’ve received an Organisation code (see Send an Organisation code) from the organisation you wish to connect to (typically a customer), you can submit a connection request using that code.

To request a connection:

  1. Click the Admin icon in the left-hand menu

  2. Click the Connectivity tab

  3. Click the Connections button

  4. Click the Add new button

  5. In the overlay window, paste the Organisation code in field of the same name

  6. Select the Organisation the connection relates to the in the drop-down field

  7. Click the Request Connection button

You'll see a ✓ Connection requested confirmation message appear (bottom left) and the connection will be listed in the Requested tab of the Connections page. The organisation you've invited will now be able to review and accept your request (see Accept a Connection).

You'll need to have created the Organisation you wish to connect to (typically your customer) in the Organisations page to be able to complete step 6 above.

Accept a Connection

When another organisation (typically a supplier) requests to connect with you using your Organisation code (see Request a Connection), their request will appear in your Requested tab of the Connection page. You can then review the details and accept the connection to enable the exchange of information between organisations in Interu.

To accept a connection request:

  1. Click the Admin icon in the left-hand menu

  2. Click the Connectivity tab

  3. Click the Connections button

  4. Click the Received tab

  5. Hover over the Organisation name for which you received the request from and click the Accept button (or click the Reject button if you do not want to accepted the connection)

  6. In the overlay window, select the Organisation the connection relates to the in the drop-down field

  7. Click the Accept button

You'll see a ✓ Connection created confirmation message appear (bottom left), and the connected organisation will now appear in the Connected tab. You’re now ready to send and receive information with this organisation.

You'll need to have created the Organisation you wish to connect to (typically your supplier) in the Organisations page to be able to complete step 6 above.

Disconnect from an Organisation

If you need to formally end a relationship with a connected partner, you can now do this yourself directly in the Connections area — no backend intervention or support request required.

To disconnect from an organisation:

  1. Click the Admin icon in the left-hand menu

  2. Click the Connectivity tab

  3. Click the Connections button

  4. Open the Connected tab and locate the organisation you want to disconnect from

  5. Select the Disconnect action for that organisation on the right hand side

  6. Review the confirmation prompt and confirm to complete the disconnection

A confirmation step is included to prevent accidental disconnections. Once confirmed, the connection is severed and you will no longer be able to exchange data with that organisation unless you reconnect.

You will be able to see all the disconnected organisations in the Disconnected tab.

Once you disconnect an organisation, you're unable to reconnect to the same organisation on your own. Please contact our team for further support.
